Activities and Tips for Mentors

    • Write a letter together. Thank someone for a Christmas gift or write to a celebrity or community figure who interests your student. Imagine the excitement at receiving a response!
    • Look at magazines together. For students with low reading levels, pictures and stories may offer many things to talk about and help with self-expression.
    • Explore the GCS web pages together. There are 55 èAVƵ and lots of “Good News.”

Listening may be the single most important skill a mentor can possess!
