Reopening of Schools

Message from the Superintendent

  • Dear Parents and Employees:

Superintendent Jeff Booker It is no secret that school districts across the United States are facing a daunting task when it comes to the operation of schools in the new academic year. The coronavirus pandemic has changed so much about how we live, and it has brought about a “new normal” for our society. Without question, school will be different for the unforeseeable future.

Since early June, central office and school administrators have been working to prepare for the 2020-2021 academic year. After conducting meetings, discussions, surveys, and outreach efforts with stakeholder groups, we have developed operational guidance that centers around eight focus areas. We hope this information addresses some of the questions that you have about what school will be like for 2020-2021.

The time ahead of us will be difficult. We ask everyone associated with our schools to be flexible, patient, open to change, understanding, and willing to do whatever is necessary to ensure quality instruction for children while adhering to the highest health and safety standards. No matter what comes our way, our school family is very capable of turning challenges into opportunities.

Thank you for your commitment to èAVƵ. Working together, I am confident that we will continue to inspire success and a lifetime of learning even during an unprecedented pandemic.

    Sincerely,

    W. Jeffrey Booker
