Mr. Curtis Brooks
My name is Curtis Brooks and I am a second year teacher at Brookside Elementary School, teaching third grade this year for 2023-2024. I love what I do, and I love being able to grow children’s minds into the amazing scholars that they are!
I am married to my BEAUTIFUL wife of nine years this November, Kristy. Together we have a daughter named Adalyn who is 7. My wife is an AMAZING nurse and she loves being able to support our classroom!
During our time together, we love to be able to go to the beach and the mountains. My daughter is in competitive cheerleading, therefore, we travel a lot for her competitions.
As well, I love being able to sing and play the piano!
I am an active member in our church. I love being able to work towards bigger and better things! God has called me to be able to teach!
I currently hold a Bachelor's Degree in Management. Additionally, I am working towards my teaching degree, then transitioning to my Masters at University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
I love to have fun and am excited about this upcoming school year!

This is my second year teaching, and I am so excited to be in third grade at Brookside! I am a graduate of UNC Charlotte and have a BA in Sociology/ Psychology and a Graduate degree in Elementary Education. Prior to graduating, I worked as a one on one within the èAVƵ County School system. I am newly married and outside of teaching, I love spending time with my amazing husband and our family.

Miss Chassidy Maiers
Hello, I’m Chassidy Maiers. I am a product of èAVƵ and a former Brookside student. This will be my third year as a teacher. I graduated in May of 2021 from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with my Bachelors degree in Elementary Education. I enjoy spending time with my family and my kitten Luna. I am so excited to be a 3rd grade teacher and even more excited to be back at Brookside.

Mrs. Alexus Murray
My name is Alexus Murray, and I am excited to start my third year teaching at Brookside Elementary! I graduated from Liberty University in August of 2020 with my Bachelor's in Social Work. Soon after starting my career as a foster care case manager, I knew that I needed to fulfill my lifelong dream of teaching. I am currently studying for my Master's in Elementary Education at Western Governors University. I have always had a passion for education and working with children. I enjoy every second in the classroom, and I am excited to teach third grade again at Brookside!
