Mrs. Jenny Carper

Jenny Carper served as a classroom teacher for 25 years.   She attended Western Kentucky University and graduated from Ohio University with a Bachelor of Science in Education grades K-8. She completed her Master’s in School Administration, in the Principal Fellows program, at the University of North Carolina - Charlotte.   She served as the assistant principal at Holbrook Middle School and is thrilled to be a part of the Highland family.

Jenny spent the first 16 years of her education career in Ohio. While teaching in Ohio, she won the National Milken Family Foundation Award, Walmart Teacher of the Year, American Red Cross Educator of the Year, and was nominated for Disney Teacher of the Year twice. She coached all-star, high school, and middle school cheerleading. She relocated to her home state of North Carolina to marry her high school sweetheart, Chad Carper, in 2012. She taught at Forest Heights and Robinson Elementary Schools. Leadership roles have included Teacher of the Year, School Improvement Team chair, Grade Level chair, Superintendent’s Advisory Council, Girls on the Run coach, and Let Me Run coach.

Jenny and her husband have a blended family of 4 boys - Taylor, Josh, Noah, and Matt. They love to travel and go on adventures together. She also loves to run, work out, and be active. Jenny loves running races - including 5Ks, 10Ks, half marathons, Spartan obstacle course races and she has her site set to race her first triathlon in 2023.  Jenny is active with her church, her friends, her gym and LOVES anything Disney!
